The Street Sweepers campaign was an initiative aimed at building a bridge between skateboarders and the communities they interact with on a daily basis. As passionate skateboarders, we often find ourselves exploring various neighborhoods and public spaces in search of new and challenging skate spots. However, we also frequently encounter a pervasive problem: trash and litter strewn across the sidewalks, benches, and areas we frequently use.

In response to this issue, a group of skaters, including myself, decided to take action and started cleaning up trash at popular skate spots. This simple act of community service quickly evolved into the Street Sweepers campaign. The idea behind Street Sweepers is to harness the power of skateboarding to promote environmental awareness and civic responsibility, while also fostering positive relationships between Skateboarders and the communities they inhabit.

By organizing regular cleaning events at popular Skate spots, Street Sweepers aims to not only improve the appearance of these public spaces, but also to promote a sense of ownership and pride among local Skateboarders. By giving back to the community and taking an active role in improving their neighborhood, Skateboarders can begin to bridge the gap between themselves and the community, fostering a more positive and mutually beneficial relationship.

Through the Street Sweepers campaign, we hope to empower Skateboarders to take a leadership role in promoting community engagement and environmental stewardship. The initiative was successful in raising awareness of the issue of trash in public spaces and creating positive relationship between skaters and their communities.
