As a skateboarder, my favorite thing to do is to look at the maps from a skateboarders perspective and see what locations on a map are skate spots. I enjoy recontextualizing area, thinking of what the best route would be to jump down a set of stairs, or grind on a curved ledge. I also love when developers add hostile architecture elements, such as knobs on ledges or spikes on benches, as that is also part of skateboarding culture. Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City has so much implicit skateboarding references that it has become my favorite map to explore.
